Mitsubishi will return to the UK next month with new L200 and Outlander PHEV models

Mitsubishi Motors has confirmed the first wave of UK sales dealer appointments as it prepares to relaunch vehicle sales for the Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck and Mistubishi Outlander PHEV.

More than half of its planned dealer network is now in place, according to importer International Motors.

Dealer network taking shape

A total of 33 sales sites have been appointed in the initial phase, putting Mitsubishi on track to reach its target of 60 UK dealers ahead of new model arrivals in May 2026.

The network is a mix of long-standing Mitsubishi partners and new franchise holders, signalling a return to form for the brand’s retail presence.

Mitusubishi exited the UK market in 2021, and International Motors has held the parts and service agreement for the brand since. Existing aftersales coverage remains broader, with 105 operational sites already active across the UK.

Among the returning dealers are Humphries & Parks in Maidstone, Adam Purves in Galashiels, Fields of Bromsgrove, Celtic Mitsubishi in Swansea, JT Hughes in Shrewsbury and Tweedmouth in Berwick-upon-Tweed, many of which have decades of experience with the brand.

New partners join the franchise

Alongside established names, Mitsubishi has also brought in new dealer groups, some of which already operate within the wider International Motors portfolio. These include York Mitsubishi, F J Chalke in Wincanton, Jeffries of Bacton and Startin in Twyford.

The mix of legacy and new partners is intended to provide both continuity for existing customers and broader market reach as Mitsubishi re-enters the UK.

New models arriving from May

The dealer rollout comes ahead of the arrival of two key models: the new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and the Mitsubishi L200 Series 7.

Both are expected in UK showrooms from May 2026 and will form the backbone of Mitsubishi’s renewed product offering for both fleet and lifestyle buyers.

Strong interest ahead of relaunch

Mitsubishi says interest from both customers and dealers has been strong as it rebuilds its UK sales operations.

Sharon Townsend, head of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said: “We are pleased to welcome back so many familiar dealers as authorised sales points.”

“The experience, enthusiasm and knowledge they bring to the network and our customers are vitally important, and it will be wonderful to see new Mitsubishi vehicles back in their dealerships. We are also pleased to welcome some new partners to the franchise."

"The news around Mitsubishi vehicle sales has generated considerable interest from customers and dealers alike, and we look forward to completing our new dealer sales network in the coming weeks,” she added.

A dealer locator is now live on the Mitsubishi Motors UK website, allowing customers to find their nearest authorised sales point ahead of the official relaunch.
