BYD has launched a range of electric vehicles at the IAA Transportation in Hannover including a new electric van, the BYD E-Vali.
Making its debut alongside two 19-tonne and 7.5-tonne trucks was the BYD E-Vali, a new electric LCV suited to final mile and courier delivery services.
The van weighs in at 3.5-tonne to 4.25-tonne and offers a range of between 220 to 250km depending on the specification.
It uses the BYD Blade Battery technology with a cobalt-free 80.64 kWh Lithium Iron-Phosphate battery powering a 100kW motor.
A suite of ADAS features is expected to come as standard.
The BYD E-Vali has a large rear load compartment, with low loading height and is said to measure up to 17.9m3 for 4.25-tonne model. The E-Vali will also have a maximum payload of up to 1450kg depending on the body size of the van.
Current plans will see the vans introduced in selected market with the possiblity of a right-hand-drive version for the UK.

Also on display was the BYD ETH8, a 19-tonne eTruck available with two wheelbase options. It’s equipped with a 255kWh battery to offer a range of 250km and has fast charging to enable the battery to be charged from 20% to 100% in just two hours.
Also revealed was the ETM6 7.5-tonne truck for inner city distribution. It gets a range of up to 200km and with DC charging at 120kW, which can charge from 20% to 100% in one hour.
The final new product revealed at the week-long Hannover show, was the BYD EYT 2.0 electric yard tractor, with a GCW of up to 75-tonne and a claimed working time of up to 16 hours on a single charge.
