Kia has finally revealed the pricing of its new van, the PV5 Cargo, which will hit UK roads later this year.
The long-wheelbase L2H1 version of the Kia PV5 Cargo will start from £27,645 (excluding VAT and the Government Plug In Van Grant). With current UK grants taken into account that price will drop to just £22,645.
Despite being a small van, with a load volume of 4.4m3, the PV5 has a gross vehicle weight of 2,650kg putting it in the higher category for the Plug In Van Grant (PiVG) where it receives a £5000 discount, compared to just £2500 for smaller weight vans.
The entry-level model gets a “standard range” 51.5kWh battery, the larger 71kWh battery model will cost just £2,500 with a starting price of £30,145. It is also eligible for the £5000 PiVG discount.
Prices for the smaller sized van, as well as other sizes and the chassis cab variant will be released later in the year.
In contrast, the Citroen e-Berlingo which gets a 50kWh battery and whose entry-level van is a smaller (capable of 3.3m3) has a marginally higher starting price of £27,995.
Citroen’s Berlingo is also claimed to have a range of 213 miles, compared to the Kia PV5’s claimed range of 249 miles.
PV5 Cargo will be available in two trim levels, Essential and Plus. Owing to the large amounts of standard equipment in the Essential trim, there’s expected to only be a £1,000 price difference between the two trim levels.
‘Essential’ models come as standard in Solid White paint, but there’s a choice of five premium colours available. Other colour options include White Pearl, Midnight Black, Cityscape Green, Steel Grey and Mint Green. Optional paints are priced at £625 (+VAT).
Pricing for the Kia PV5 Passenger van will start at £32,995 for the Essential trim with the standard range 51.5kWh battery.
