MV Commercial is to meet the growing demand for sportier-looking light commercial vehicles with a new range of heavily customised Ford Transit Custom vans called MV Sport and MV Sport+.
The vehicles, available in the lease and rent-to-buy market will cater for this demand by introducing two new trim levels. These will be available from MV Commercial on top of existing Ford Transit Custom models. Also available direct from Ford are OEM enhanced Ford Transit Custom Active and MS-RT editions.
The Ford Transit Custom MV Sport Edition gets 18-inch alloys, colour-coded handles, mirrors and trim. There's also roof rails, Raptor-style grille, window and bonnet deflectors, side skirts and a front and rear spoiler.
The Sport+ model also has many of those features but also gets an XTS full body kit.
These vehicles will be available at MV Commercial's nationwide depots, including its main sites in Luton, Haydock, and Airdrie.
According to Steven Cairns, MD of MV Commercial, there has been a noticeable shift in the preferences of van drivers. There has been an increased demand for sportier-looking vans. Customers are seeking vehicles that stand out on the road. The launch of these two new models directly addresses this demand.
The surge in demand for sportier vans is attributed to a combination of businesses wanting to differentiate themselves from competitors and tradespeople who work hard and desire a special vehicle as a reward. MV Commercial also highlights that the highest demand for these new models comes from younger demographics that prioritise aesthetics and design alongside cargo space, payload, and power.
All MV Sport and MV Sport+ vans get the same Ford engines and performance as standard models.
MV Commercial, primarily known for supplying heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), has been expanding its sales of light commercial vehicles since entering the van market in 2021 with the establishment of its dedicated van center.
