Peugeot is to launch a new sportier version of its mid-sized Expert van.
The Peugeot Expert Sport van is based on the regular medium van but with sportier styling, an upgraded interior and some extra equipment.
The Expert Sport gets a body kit with front lip spoiler, side skirts with integrated protective front mud guards, and a revised rear bumper which Peugeot says integrates with the “distinctive Kryptonite rear spoiler”.
Other upgrades over the regular Peugeot Expert in Asphalt trim include Y-Spoke 18-inch alloy wheels, which are fitted with high payload capacity Nankang tyres.
The Expert Sport also gets a fancy Kryptonite livery and has including grille highlights, and unique badging on the interior and rear of the vehicle.
On the inside, the Expert Sport will get hand-crafted eco-leather seats with Kryptonite stitching and a Sport logo.
Peugeot also says that the perforated material will also allow for ventilation and that its eco-leather material is capable of meeting the demands of a van environment with colourfast, scratchproof and tear-resistant properties, while also being said to be hard-wearing, breathable, moisture regulating, and acid and alkali resistant.
Wow. Sign us up, we’ll have a jacket made of the stuff!
The Expert Sport also gets the Comfort Pack, which includes dual-zone electronic climate control, keyless entry and start, and wireless smartphone charging. There’s also a Winter Pack which adds a heated leather steering wheel and a heated driver’s seat.
For added safety first-row thorax-side airbags have also been added for enhanced safety.
Peugeot says the new van is inspired by motorsport and has chosen a colour used on the electrified Peugeot 9X8 Hypercar that is currently competing in the World Endurance Championship.
As well as all the features already mentioned, the Expert Sport gets the same equipment as the Asphalt trim level. This includes front and rear park assistance, flankguard detection of fixed obstacles, a Visiopark 180 reversing camera, blind spot detection and full LED headlights.
There’s also Peugeot’s i-Connect infotainment system with a 10-inch touchscreen and TomTom 3D connected navigation. Connectivity is through wireless smart phone mirroring with ‘OK PEUGEOT’ intelligent voice assistance that is also integrated with ChatGPT.
Like the regular Peugeot Expert dimensions, the new Peugeot Expert Sport van is available in two body styles, Panel Van and Crew Van, and in two colours, Ice White and Titanium Grey.
There is a choice of a powertrains, with a 2-litre BlueHDi turbodiesel, producing 180hp and paired to an EAT8 eight-speed automatic transmission, or the all-electric Peugeot E-Expert Sport van which gets a 75kWh battery and 136hp electric motor. It’s enough for a range of up to 209 miles.
