Updated Grand California camper gets new tech boost

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has unveiled the 2025 model year updates for its flagship motorhome, the Grand California, bringing a suite of technological enhancements and improved efficiency.

The popular Grand California has undergone a significant interior refresh, incorporating the latest dashboard and digital cockpit.

On the inside there's a new 10-inch infotainment screen, which is also available with in an optional 12.9-inch size, and now features App Connect as standard. This allows for wireless smartphone mirroring to give you access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

For enhanced control over camping functions, a new 5-inch portrait touchscreen, previously seen in the new California, has been integrated into the living area, managing features such as auxiliary heating and ambient lighting.

The recently introduced California app is now also compatible with the Grand California, enabling users to monitor vehicle status, including water levels and battery charge, remotely.

Exterior updates include revised badging that update the big campervan to the current styles of the new California.

Like the new Volkswagen Transporter, the Grand California camper also gets a comprehensive 5+ Promise package, which includes five services, two MOTs, a five-year warranty, and five years of Roadside Assistance.

The Grand California 680 is offered with both front-wheel drive (FWD) and 4MOTION all-wheel drive configurations. The engine line-up has been upgraded to meet Euro-6 HD emissions standards, with the 2-litre TDI engine now delivering 160hp and 410Nm of torque.

To mark the launch, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is offering a special finance package until 31 March 2025.

Both the Grand California 600 and 680 models are available with 6.9% APR Representative on a Solutions Personal Contract Plan (PCP), with a £3,500 deposit contribution. This offer is valid for contracts ranging from 18 to 60 months.

Additionally, customers can benefit from an extra £1,000 deposit contribution during the March sales event.

Based on the Volkswagen Crafter platform, the Grand California has a spacious interior, featuring a fully-equipped kitchen, a built-in wet room, and a comfortable sleeping area.

The 2025 model is available in seven paint colour options, including three single-tone and four dual-tone choices.

The new Grand California is vailable to order now, prices start from £84,046 for the Grand California 600 and £86,800 for the Grand California 680.
