Volkswagen adds new entry-level ID Buzz van to range

Volkswagen has added a new entry-level version of the ID Buzz with a smaller battery.

The cheapest model in the line-up, starting at £35,960, the Volkswagen ID Buzz Cargo Commerce gets a 59kWh battery capable of up to 200 miles.

Capable of rapid charging at up to 165kW, the new 59kWh battery can be charged from 5% to 80% in around 30 minutes. Power comes from a 168hp rear-mounted motor.

The new VW ID Buzz Cargo dimensions remain unchanged with a load volume of of up to 3.9m3 and floor space for two Euro pallets loaded widthways.

The smaller battery also means it gets an improved payload of 692kg, while the Volkswagen ID Buzz towing capacity remains at 1,000kg.

Small battery models are available exclusively in the Commerce trim level, which gets LED headlights, three front seats with heated driver’s seat and front and rear parking sensors. There's also a 12.9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The new entry-level ID Buzz Cargo 59kWh will be available on a discounted PCP finance agreement with a 4.9% APR interest rate until 31 March 2025, and customers can also benefit from Volkswagen Group’s partnership with OVO, who provide a 'Charge Anytime’ add-on, which enables vehicle charging for just 7p/kWh5 at home at any time,

Customers signing up to OVO will also receive up to 30,000 free miles.
