The Isuzu UK Special Recognition Award went to George Mackenzie of Corrie Motors Isuzu, recognising his long-standing contribution to the business and the wider Isuzu network.
Mackenzie began working in the family garage business in 1968, with the dealership adding Isuzu to its franchise portfolio in 2014.
Additional “Heroes of Isuzu UK” awards were presented to Jason Ditchburn of Ditchburn Truck Services, Dave Matthews of Startin Tractors Isuzu and Mark Bond of Roger Young Isuzu.
Area Dealer of the Year awards were presented to Startin Tractors, Roger Young, John Barr Cars and overall winner York Van Centre.
Alan Able, MD of Isuzu UK, said the awards reflected the strength of the retailer network ahead of several upcoming product launches.
“We have an exciting period ahead, with the launch of the recently showcased Isuzu D-Max 2.2 diesel pick-up and the first all-electric D-Max EV,” he said.
Tony Huggins, owner of York Van Centre, said the triple award success reflected the efforts of the entire dealership team.
"Wow. I can only say ‘happy days’! We are very committed to Isuzu and we’ve won our fair share of awards, but to take three big titles this year is very special. Of course it’s the whole team that deserves the recognition: it simply wouldn’t happen without them, and after celebrating we’re all looking forward to another exciting year ahead.”
