The Kia PV5 Cargo dimensions aren't officially out yet, but Van Reviewer has had the chance to get familiar with the new electric van and has the initial all-important measurements for Kia's first light commercial vehicle.
The Kia PV5 Cargo overall dimensions are based on those of the concept van, with just a few changes from the model first shown in 2024. However, we've been able to get up close and personal with the final production-ready van for 2025, which means we've got a fist look at the PV5 height, length, width as well as the cargo space size and dimensions.
We've also got the official word, straight from the mouth of the European head of vans, on the Kia PV5 cargo space load volume for each of the models.
These are unofficial PV5 dimensions not based on the manufacturer specifications from Kia, though.
These are based on the published external dimensions of the concept vehicle as well as hand-measured dimensions of the launch van.
Official Kia PV5 dimensions will be available soon, and we'll update as and when we get them.
Check the homepage for more van dimensions.
The Kia PV5 will launch in three different sizes with an L1 and L2 length van, as well as an H1 and H2 roof heights.
While both L1 and L2 length vans will be available with the standard H1 height, the PV5 will only be available with a high-roof (H2) version in the long-wheelbase (L2) van.
Actually, it's not even a long wheelbase as the PV5 is only available in one wheelbase length. The PV5 has a wheelbase length of 3m (3000mm) for all models.
Instead the L2 version gets an increased overhang at the rear, making it 200mm (20cm) longer than the standard van.
Although we are focusing on the Cargo version, many of these measurements are also applicable to the Kia PV5 Passenger version of the van. Passenger models have the exact same dimensions, however, the internal layout differs.
If you're looking to find out the Kia PV5 van weights and payload there's also a guide to help you.
The overall length of the Kia PV5 is 4.5m for the standard L1 van, and 4.7m for the L2 van.
That's the official length of the PV5 Cargo as a concept model - these numbers will likely change slightly for the production vans.
The Kia PV5 height is 1.9m (1,923mm with an antenna / 1,899mm without antenna) for the H1 van and 2.2m or 2,200mm for the H2 van.
There's just one measurement for the overall width of the Kia PV5 because all vans are the same.
The Kia PV5 width is 1.9m or 1895mm - that's the measurement excluding the wing mirrors.
The overall dimensions of the Kia PV5 cargo space show that it is a compact medium-sized van with very some impressive dimensions.
The PV5 actually sits between most small vans and medium vans in its overall size. In many ways it's like a reincarnation of the Nissan NV200 with a tall body and compact length.
Where the PV5 is trying to be different is in the usable rear loadspace, and the amount of space that can be used. That's because the floor has been lowered as much as possible, and while that's created an awkward-looking gap between the rear wheelarches, it has increased the overall loadspace height.
Increased overall height in the cargo area is an important feature, especially in the H2 version, where a walk-through bulkhead door will allow drivers to enter the rear and comfortably stand in the loadspace to work.
The following measurements are unofficial, and taken from the pre-production model by hand.
The Kia PV5 has an overall internal length at floor height of 2260mm for the L1 model.
The longer version of the PV5 van has an additional 200mm rear overhang which is all added to the loadspace length making the L2 model cargo space length 2460mm.
There are a few important measurements to know in the height of the PV5 cargo space. That's because the rear wheel arches and the boxed in area next to the wheels (which houses suspension components) create two different load height level.
The height to the top of the wheel arch is 920mm, while the distance from the ceiling to the suspension housing is 1300mm.
The most important measurement, however, is the internal height maximum - the distance from the floor of the PV5 to the roof, which is 1410mm for the H1 van.
The H2 high roof PV5 van is said to have an internal height from floor to ceiling of 1815mm.
These are only quick measurements, but the extended wheel arche housing is an interesting idea, and one which significantly lowers the loading height of the van - see the loading height section below.
Kia plans to offer the PV5 with both this low-entry height floor and the option of a reinforced floor that runs the length of the van. That will enable wider loads to be put into the rear of the van, but also provide useful storage below the floor. There's also talk of this floor being removable - although it's not quite clear how that would work.
The Kia PV5 has a total width across the loadspace of 1320mm. This is the width at the widest part of the van.
In contrast, the total width across the loadspace of the van between the narrowest part of the wheelarches is just 900m.
Kia says these measurements will allow a euro pallet to be loaded vertically through the rear doors and another euro pallet to be place horizontally through the side loading doors.
Although the rear wheel arch gap can take up to 900mm, the rear door opening appears to be 840mm at its narrowest point.
Higher up on the gap increases to the width between the wheelarches with a measurement of 1320mm at its widest point.
The PV5 side door opening is 810mm wide and 1340mm high
Possibly the biggest selling point for fleet and courier or home delivery drivers is that the PV5 has a loading height of 410mm.
This makes entry in and out of the PV5 Cargo exceptionally easy.
Load volumes for the Kia PV5 vary according to the size of the van with a range from 3.4m3 to 5.1m3.
Kia PV5 cargo volumes are:
L1H1 - 3.4m3
L2H1 - 4.5m3
L2H1 - 5.1m3
The Kia PV5 Cargo Compact is the most entry-level van, with an overall length of 4,500 mm.
The PV5 external width is 1.9m, its overall external height is 1.92 mm.
It is based on a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.
Kia PV5 Cargo Compact (L1H1) dimensions | Dimensions (mm) |
---|---|
Length | 4500 |
Width | 1895 |
Height | 1,923mm (with antenna) |
Wheelbase | 3000 |
Cargo / Loadspace volume | 3.4m3 |
The Kia PV5 Cargo Long or L2 length van gets an slight increase in its overall length.
Although not a long-wheelbase model it will almost certainly be called the PV5 LWB by many people as it has in increased length of 4,695mm.
The L2H1 van has a width of 1,900mm, a height of 1,900mm.
It is also based on a wheelbase of 3,000mm.

---|---|
Length | 4695 |
Width | 1895 |
Height | 1900 |
Wheelbase | 3000 |
Cargo / Loadspace volume | 4.5m3 |
The biggest van in the PV5 range, the Cargo high-roof has a length of 4,700 mm, a width of 1,895 mm, a height of 2,200 mm. Like the other models it also has a 3,000mm wheelbase.
Its height is about 300mm higher than both the Compact and Long vans and is the basis for the walk-through model.
The Kia PV5 with walk-through door is the biggest and most practical version of the Kia van. Like the high-roof it has a 2.2m height, but making use of the low loading height it is able to give up to 1.8m of head room to enable people to walk quite comfortably in the rear.
Kia PV5 Cargo High-Roof/Walk-through (L2H2) dimensions | Dimensions (mm) |
---|---|
Length | 4695 |
Width | 1900 |

Cargo / Loadspace volume | 5.1m3 |
The Kia PV5 measures 4.5m (length) x 1.9m (height) x 1.9m (width). The long wheelbase L2 model is 4.7m long.
