Isuzu's new electric D-Max to cost £60k

Isuzu D-Max EV launch
July 21, 2025

Isuzu has confirmed that its D-Max EV will have a starting price just under £60,000 for the entry-level models.

The £59,995 price will exclude VAT and is the price for the base model eDL-40, with the price rising to £62,495 for the V-Cross trim.

The fully electric 4x4 pick-up gets a 1-tonne payload, as well as a 3.5-tonne towing capacity. It uses a 140kW dual-motor powertrain, and is paired to a 66.9kWh battery to give an all electric range of 163 miles (263km).

Based on the new D-Max platform, the Isuzu D-Max EV is a re-engineered version with a permanent four-wheel-drive system, with a front motor output of 43kW and a 97kW rear motor.

Combined the two motors give the Isuzu D-Max EV a total of 325Nm of torque with 108Nm from the front and 217Nm from the rear.

Isuzu says the electric pick-up will have a wading depth of up to 600mm, ground clearance of 210mm, and approach and departure angles of 30.5 degrees and 24.2 degrees.

Itwill come in two trim levels and will only be available in extended cab and double cab bodies.

Isuzu has also confirmed the official naming for the electric variants of its popular pick-up models in the UK. The previously referred to DL40-equivalent and V-Cross-equivalent trim levels will now be known as D-Max eDL40 and D-Max eV-Cross.

This naming convention aligns with the existing diesel-powered range.

The New Isuzu D-Max EV will come in a range of colours with regular and metallic finishes.

The eDL40 models will be available in Splash White as standard, with optional colours including Mercury Silver Metallic, Obsidian Grey MICA, Onyx Black MICA, and Biarritz Blue Metallic.

The top of the range eV-Cross gets an exclusive Dolomite White Pearl finish. Special paints will cost an additional £600.

Pre-sales will begin later this year, with the first UK models set to arrive in February 2026. Dealer demonstrators are expected to arrive before customer deliveries begin in March 2026.
