The Kia PV5 Chassis will be sold exclusively with the larger 71.2kWh Long Range battery in the UK, as Kia prepares to launch its conversion-ready electric van later this year.
While some European markets will also get a 51.1kWh Standard Range version, UK buyers will only be offered the 71.2kWh battery giving the chassis version of the PV5 a likely range of around 250 miles depending on body choices.
The Long Range model gets a 120kW electric motor and can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes using a DC rapid charger, while a three phase 11kW AC charge from 10% to 100% takes around six hours and 30 minutes.

The PV5 Chassis joins the existing PV5 Cargo and Passenger models with official conversion partners like TGS Automotive Group, who will produce Lightweight Tipper, Dropside and Box bodies that are planned for launch in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Other equipment will include mesh cages and fall-arrest systems, as well as Chapter 8 equipment and beacons.
Kia says the completed vehicles will offer a claimed best-in-class payload, although final payload figures have yet to be announced and will depend on the individual conversion and specification.
Built on Kia’s dedicated E-GMP.S electric architecture, the PV5 Chassis measures less than 5m long and has an exposed rear chassis designed specifically to accommodate different commercial vehicle bodies.
It also has a claimed best-in-class 5.5-metre turning radius, which should make the chassis cab particularly well suited to urban work where manoeuvrability is important.

The decision to offer only the 71.2kWh battery in the UK gives operators greater capacity for longer routes or jobs where charging opportunities may be limited.
“Commercial-vehicle customers need solutions that reflect how they actually operate,” said Erhan Eren, Director PBV at Kia Europe.
“The 71.2kWh Long Range battery extends the flexibility of the PV5 Chassis, giving businesses greater scope to balance distance, charging access and conversion requirements in one compact electric platform.”
The PV5 Chassis will be introduced across European markets during 2026, with UK conversions from TGS scheduled to arrive in Q4.
Like the rest of the PV5 range, the Chassis will come with Kia’s seven-year/100,000-mile vehicle warranty, while the battery has separate eight-year cover.
