Kia is steering towards a more connected and personalised driving thanks to a new partnership with LexisNexis Risk Solutions.
The new technological will provide a data-driven driver analytics system powered by the LexisNexis Drive Metrics model to offer real-time insights into their driving habits via the newly unified Kia App.
From feedback on speeding, aggressive braking, and acceleration patterns to tracking mileage and exposure to risks, drivers can better understand and improve their driving behaviours.
“Connected services are reshaping the driver experience, and having a data-based driver score is a significant step towards safer driving and more personalised mobility,” said Olivier Pascal, head of connected cars at Kia Connect.
“We are empowering our customers with real-time driving insights while supporting the insurance industry with meaningful, privacy-conscious data, enabling insurance providers to deliver tailored solutions like never before,” he added.
Kia’s PBV range of electric vans which will include the Kia PV7 medium van, Kia PV9 large van and the newly launched Kia PV5 Cargo and Kia PV5 Passenger, could use the LexisNexus connectivity to potentially lower insurance costs. By opting to share their Drive Metrics score, drivers can access personalised insurance premiums, rewarding safe driving with reduced costs.

This integration is more than just a tech upgrade. It promises tangible benefits for van drivers, from reducing insurance premiums to enhancing driving habits.
Now available to download, the Kia App includes features from Kia Connect, Kia Charge and MyKia to help streamline driver's connection to their car or van.
