Renault has revealed pricing for its new large electric van with a punchy entry-level price.
The new Renault Master E-Tech electric van will start at £37,500 plus VAT and after getting a £5000 contribution from the Government Plug-in Van Grant.
The most recent winner of the International Van of the Year is the fourth-generation Renault Master and the second to be electrified with a 105kW/300Nm motor and an 87kWh battery pack.
It gets an overall WLTP range of up to 285 miles and can rapid charge at a rate of 130kW. That's enough to add 142 miles of range in just 30 minutes. Alternatively a 22kW AC charge will take the battery level from 10% to 100% in just under four hours.
The front has been completely redesigned and the rear now has a loadspace of between 11 to 14.8 cubic metres.
Payload capacity is up to 1,625kg and the Master E-Tech towing capacity is an impressive 2.5 tonnes.
Standard equipment includes a 10-inch touch screen with wired and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and there are 20 driver assistance systems for added safety.
The new Renault Master E-Tech platform is also shared by alliance partner Nissan. Their version of the large electric van is called the Nissan Interstar-e which gets a revised front grille and slightly different offers, including a five-year standard warranty.
Over the last few years, Renault has slowed revamped its range, introducing new versions of the Kangoo and Kangoo E-Tech, but a fully electric version of the medium sized Trafic will not arrive until 2026.
