MAN Truck & Bus will unveil a significantly updated van chassis designed to appeal to the growing motorhome market later this week at the Dusseldorf Caravan and Camper Salon.
Based on the MAN TGE 2025 'Next Level' model, it gets a complete overhaul of its electronic systems, including new control units, cameras and sensors to increase safety with added advanced driver assistance features.
The new design focuses on a more modern, spacious cabin which will now include a digital instrument cluster, a central MAN Media Van touch display and a new multifunction steering wheel. The traditional handbrake lever has been replaced with a standard electric parking brake and the gear lever has been relocated to the steering wheel, creating more space in the dashboard.
Also being introduced at the show is a new 4,000mm wheelbase, designated as L 3.5.

The new option, which will be available by the end of 2025, fits between the two existing wheelbases and is specifically designed for manufacturers of semi-integrated motorhomes. It can be equipped with either a standard or wide-track axle and will be available with both automatic and manual transmissions.
The new L 3.5 wheelbase, which has a gross van weight of 3.5 or 3.88 tonnes, is expected to provide motorhome builders with greater flexibility in terms of weight distribution, added dimensions and greater vehicle overhang.
Alongside its own products, MAN is also exhibiting several partner vehicles that demonstrate the versatility of the TGE as a base for camper conversions.
Among the vehicles on display are the Westfalia Sven Hedin Premium and the Megamobil Mega Lounge 680 S Open (pictured at the top, in black), both of which are equipped with the new features of the TGE.
The stand also features a customised TGE from MAN Individual, which highlights a range of aftermarket and customisation options.
To complement the motorhome experience, MAN is also showing a Haibike Adventr 6 electric bicycle.
The Caravan Salon runs from 29 August to 7 September in Düsseldorf.
