Vauxhall has announced full pricing and specification for the Vauxhall Movano Hydrogen large van.
Available in one trim level, but with two body sizes, the smaller of the two vans will be priced at £66,450 when order books open in Spring 2025. That’s the price for an L3H2 size van, while the larger L4H3 models will be priced at £68,070.
It gets a range of up to 311 miles, according to the WLTP test cycle and is an evolution of the technology used in the Vauxhall Vivaro Hydrogen van which was launched in selected European markets in 2022, and has been trialled by selected UK fleets.
The new hydrogen Movano joins the existing Vauxhall van line-up of electric vans which includes the Combo Electric, Vivaro Electric and Movano Electric.
Power comes from a 110kW (148hp) electric motor producing 410Nm of torque. It uses a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell, rated at 45kW maximum power and is paired to four high-pressure cylindrical hydrogen tanks. The tanks have a capacity of up to 7kg of hydrogen, stored at a 700 bar operating pressure with refuelling in less than five minutes.
An additional 11kWh lithium-ion battery provides support when starting or accelerating and regenerative braking recharges the battery to improve efficiency.
If needed, the battery can also be re-charged in approximately 90 minutes using an 11kW AC charger – this will ensure that operators can still get their vehicles to a hydrogen refuelling station.
Available only in Prime trim, it includes 10-inch touchscreen with integrated TomTom navigation as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring. There’s also a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, rear parking sensors, automatic air conditioning, an electric parking brake, electric heated mirrors and keyless entry and start.
