Volkswagen has revealed a preview of an updated Multivan, ahead of its launch later this year.
Teased last week at the Volkswagen's annual media briefing where teasers for the Caddy and Multivan were shown, the revised Multivan comes at a time when the model is enjoying its best ever performance.
After more than four decades it continues to be a cornerstone of the VW line-up, and in 2025, the current model recorded its strongest ever performance, with global deliveries rising 31% to 38,700 units.

Full technical details are yet to be confirmed, but there are some details on the new Multivan which gets an updated front end, that keeps the DNA of its predecessors, but becomes sharper and more modern.
The split between the bumper and radiator grille is now more pronounced and it has a visually widened stance. There's also redesigned LED headlights, which introduce a new light signature to the people mover.
Colour and trim updates are also part of the refresh with a revised palette, which for the first time will include a matte paint finish. It wouldn't be a multivan with two-tone paint options, so there's now a new Candy White with Grey Brown metallic combo, which is one of three fresh two-tone options.
Wheel designs have also been updated with six of the 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheel options getting revised. The larger 19-inch ‘Halmstad’ wheel has also been subtly reworked.
The Multivan is one of the VW range built at the Hanover plant, which recently celebrated its 70th anniversary.
The Hanover production site is currently home to ID Buzz, ID Buzz Cargo and Multivan production, having replaced the Volkswagen Amarok. It will also be the production site for the new Volkswagen ID Buzz AD, and autonomous passenger van set to go into full production in 2027. Currently 500 pre-production versions are being assembled at the plant.
Expect more details about the Multivan later in the year, along with similar updates to the Volkswagen Caddy. We can also expect to see both models later this year at the Hannover IAA trade show.
