The Renault Master is one of the most popular models in all of Europe for large vans, which is why it is important to know the Renault Master dimensions to make sure it is the right job for your work.
The Master van comes in all manner of sizes with a diverse range of panel van lengths and heights, as well as a huge range of conversions.
It's always had a well-thought-out design and is praised specifically for its impressive dimensions.
In this guide on the Renault Master's dimensions we will look at the Renault Master length, width and height of the van, as well as the Renault Master load volume and a whole other array of details relating to the Master van size.
First, here are some of the most commonly asked questions about the Renault Master dimensions:
No. The Renault Master is actually slightly smaller than the Ford Transit van if you are to compare their total loadspace volumes. But it's not quite as simple as that. Both vans have almost identical loadspace lengths, widths and heights. They vary slightly which is why the Transit van is ever so slightly larger. When it comes to external dimensions, most Renault Master vans are slightly longer, fractionally wider and slightly smaller in height on some variants but taller on the biggest vans.
If you want to know more on how the Renault Master measurements compare to the Ford van then read our Ford Transit dimensions guide to compare the sizes.
The Renault Master has an overall length from 5m to 6.85m depending on the version you choose. It has a usable loadspace length of between 2.6m to 3.7m.
The Renault Master has an overall load volume of between 8m3 and 14.8m3 depending on the size of the van.
The Renault Master's enormous length is a big reason for its popularity, making it a preferred choice for businesses that require high volumes for transportation of goods of all sizes.
The length of the Renault Master varies depending on the specific model and variant, there are up to four lengths available as the Renaul Master comes in a variety of sizes.
To cater to diverse needs, Renault offers multiple wheelbase options, ranging from the compact short-wheelbase model to the elongated long-wheelbase version.
Renault Master length ranges from 5,048mm to 6,848mm
Equally important as length is the width of the Renault Master van.
The broad stance of the Master is designed to accommodate up to two pallets width-ways.
The Renault Master's width makes it a versatile choice for transporting goods from pallets and equipment, to other merchandise.
Renault Master width ranges from 2,070mm to 2,494mm (excluding mirrors)
The vertical dimension of the Renault Master van is equally noteworthy.
The high roof height makes loading easier and safer, providing enormous interior space for cargo.
The Renault Master is available in three different roof heights, providing extra headroom making it suitable as a mobile workshop or for walk-in, walk-out goods deliveries.
Renault Master height ranges from 2,307mm to 2,825mm
The combination of length, width, and height culminates in some massive loadspace volumes that the Renault Master is well known for. It results in a substantial internal dimensions for the Renault Master.
The Renault Master has an overall load volume that ranges from 8m3 to more than 17m3, depending on the specific van size.
The Renault Master dimensions vary based on the size of the van, understandably the larger rear-wheel-drive models will have longer wheelbases than the front-wheel-drive variants.
Here we will look at the dimensions of the Renault Master as a front-wheel-drive (FWD) van.
There are three lengths, L1, L2 and L3 with a range from 5075mm to 6225mm. These are built on three different wheelbase lenghts of 3182mm, 3682mm and 4332mm.
The front and rear overhangs are the same for all vans with a 869mm front overhang and a 1024mm rear overhang.
As well as three lengths there are also three heights for the FWD Master van, so you will find H1, H2 and H3 variants of the Master.
These heights are slightly different between the front and rear wheel drive models, and there are also different options.
The height of the Renault Master FWD H1 van is 2307mm as an L1, but that increases to 2500mm for the L1H2, 2499mm for the L2H2 and 2488mm for the L3H2. This is because of the additional weight of the larger van compressing the spring slightly and lowering the overall height of the van.
For the very tallest H3 variants there's an L2H3 van with a height of 2749mm and a L3H3 versoin with a 2744mm height.
The width of all FWD Renault Master vans is 2470mm including the mirrors and 2070mm excluding mirrors.
The load area lenght of the Renault Master van ranges from 2583mm up to 3733m. This is the maximum dimensions of the cargo area for the Renault Master, which has a cargo area width of 1765mm and a width between the wheelarches of 1380mm.
The Renault Master has a maximum loading height of 546mm for the L1H1 down to 542mm for the L3H3 model.
The rear-wheel-drive Renault Master van dimensions are slightly different. As mentioned above the van has a longer footprint and is therefore heavier. This alters both the length (naturally) but also the height of the van.
There are two body lengths for the Renault master rear-wheel-drive (RWD) van with a L3 and L4 versions. The Master L3 van has a length of 6225mm, while the L4 van has a total length of 6875mm.
The L3 van has a total wheelbase length of 3682mm, and the L4 model has a 4332mm wheelbase.
Both lengths have the same front overhang as the FWD model of 869mm but the rear overhang of the RWD vans is increased to 1674mm.
The Master RWD van comes in a choice of two heights with an H2 or H3 options.
The L3H2 van has a height of 2549mm while the L4H2 is 2557mm high. The L3H3 has a 2815mm overall height and the L4H3 model is slightly shorter at 2808mm.
All rear-wheel-drive Master vans have an overal width of 2470 including the mirrors and 2070mm without the mirrors.
The internal Renault Master van sizes range from 4383mm to 5023mm, for the L3 and L4 respectively.
The overall width of the Master RWD is 1765mm on the inside of the cargo area with a width between the wheelarches of 1380mm for the single wheel model or a width between the wheelarches of 1080mm for the twin wheel RWD van.
As you'll have already seen, there's a Renault Master medium wheelbase version which adds 500mm to the overall length.
When we talk about the Renault Master MWB dimensions we're referring here to the difference between the L1 and the L2 variants.
The L2 van is the standard sized van and therefore commonly reffered to as the medium wheelbase van. The Renault Master medium wheelbase dimensions are 5575mm in overall length with a 3682mm wheelbase. The Renault Master MWB van therefore has a total length of 5.57m, 3.68m wheelbase and this results in a 3.08m loadspace (3083mm).
When it comes to a Renault Master long wheelbase version an additioanl 650mm is added to the overall length.
That's an increase of the Renault Master LWB dimensions between the L2 and the L3 variants.
The L3 van is therefore the Renault Master LWB version with a 6225mm overall length on a 4332mm wheelbase. Those measurements in metres are 6.22m lenght and 4.33m wheelbase.
The loadsapce lenght for the long wheelbase Master is 3733mm or 3.73m.
And so to the biggest van of them all, and the dimensions of the Renault master extra long wheelbase van. The longest Renault Master of its size, the EWLB version has a 4332mm wheelbase and a 6875mm overall length.
These are the measurements for the van which is rear-wheeld-drive, as that is the only version available with an L4 configuration.
