A Farizon SV van has wracked up more than 5,000 miles helping to support Team BRIT with its racing activities across the UK.

The electric van, delivered in September under a sponsorship agreement involving Brian Currie Van Centre in Milton Keynes, has been used to transport equipment and personnel to circuits around the country.

Team BRIT, which describes itself as the world’s only competitive team of all-disabled racing drivers, is running the largest version of the Farizon SV range, the L3H3.

According to Farizon, the van’s 13m3 loadspace has been used to carry tyres, car parts, catering equipment, racing simulators and other support kit needed for race weekends.

The team competes in the Britcar Endurance Championship, GT Cup Championship and Snetterton Saloons Series, with the van said to have covered regular long-distance journeys while fully loaded.

Farizon said the 106kWh version supplied to Team BRIT offers a WLTP combined driving range of up to 247 miles with the SV capable of being charged from 20% to 80% in as little as 40 minutes.

The manufacturer is using the Team BRIT partnership as a real-world demonstration of the van’s capability in a demanding support role, with the vehicle combining long-distance road use with heavy equipment carrying duties.

Farizon also highlighted the van’s three-seat cab and standard equipment levels, which include a heated multifunction steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats, Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and vehicle-to-load functionality.

The SV forms part of Farizon’s push into the UK electric van market, where operators are increasingly looking for larger battery-electric vans capable of combining loadspace, range and rapid charging.

Nathan Wooldridge, Team BRIT’s number two mechanic and a regular behind the wheel of the team’s Farizon van, said: “The SV is far quieter than a conventional diesel van. In fact, it feels like driving a big car rather than a large van. Being electric, it’s quick to pull away, is very easy to manoeuvre, and all key controls are easy to locate and operate.”

Calum James, General Manager at Farizon Auto UK, concludes: “The Farizon SV is built for businesses of all kinds – from florists to construction firms, and even elite racing teams! With an impressive electric powertrain, high levels of space and utility, and very generous kit levels as standard, it’s great to see our vans being used as they were designed to be, by efficiently hauling people and their loads to wherever they need to be.”
