Drivers of electric Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles models including the eTransporter and ID Buzz Cargo can now access improved home charging functionality through a new integration between Ohme and Volkswagen Group Info Services AG.
The update allows Ohme users to connect directly to selected Volkswagen Group electric vehicles through an official API, enabling the charger to read the vehicle’s battery state of charge in near real time.
The integration covers EVs from Volkswagen passenger cars, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Audi, CUPRA, SEAT and Skoda brands.
For VW van owners, the development is designed to simplify home charging management and reduce charging costs by automatically scheduling charging during cheaper off-peak electricity periods.

More than 100,000 Volkswagen Group customers across Europe already use Ohme chargers. The new functionality will also display live battery charge information directly within the Ohme app, removing the need for drivers to manually check vehicle charging levels.
Lasse Schmidt van Hülst, lead sales and key account management at Volkswagen Group Info Services AG, said the integration arrives as energy tariffs become increasingly dynamic across Europe.
"We’re excited that Ohme is applying Volkswagen Group Charging Data to enhance its charging services. As home electricity tariffs across Europe become smarter and more dynamic, Ohme’s expertise and software means this new integration with Volkswagen Group Info Services AG comes at the perfect time for EV drivers," he said.
Peter McDonald from Ohme said direct access to vehicle battery data would help create a more seamless charging experience for customers.
