A pick-up truck lives and dies by its practicality, so the Toyota Hilux BEV dimensions are as important as its zero emission powertrain.
In this guide we'll look at that the electric Hilux has to offer size wise, and see how the Hilux BEV dimensions compare to the regular combustion engine pick-up.
Introducing an electric pick-up truck was already fairly radical for Toyota. Yes, they're known for their hybrids and they've been dabbling in fuel cells, but an electric pick-up truck is pretty out there because of the compromises you're likely to make.
When it comes to the size of the Hilux BEV, Toyota has not made any adjustments though. The electric Hilux is essentially identical to the diesel truck.
That means it has a length of 5.3m, a width of 1.85m and a height of 1.86m.
There's a little more to it than that, though. So lets dig in deeper into the Toyota Hilux BEV dimensions.
| Toyota Hilux BEV | Exterior Dimensions |
|---|---|
| Length | 5,320 mm |
| Width | 1,855 mm |
| Height | 1,865 mm |
| Wheelbase | 3,085 mm |

As mentioned, the Hilux BEV hasn't changed compared to the diesel, except that's ever so slightly a little white lie.
There's been a 5mm increase in the wheelbase size, upping itself to 3085mm. You'd think that would result in a 5mm increase in the overall length of the truck. However, you'd be wrong.
The external length of the Toyota Hilux BEV has actually decreased by 5mm, when compared to the diesel version. This is a change that will also be reflected in the Toyota Hilux 48V, which will share this platform and design.
That's the most interesting change for the overall dimensions of the electric Hilux truck.
The width is the same as the diesel model with a 1855mm width, and a 1865mm height.

Not stictly dimensions, we thought you might like to know a few of the important off-road facts for the Hilux BEV.
The most important ones are its angles. The approach angle is 29 degrees, the depature angle is 24 degrees. These are the same as the diesel pick-up truck.
The break-over angle, however, has been reduced to 20 degrees, down from 24 degrees.
The wading depth is also the same at 700mm.

|---|---|
| Approach / Departure / Break-over | 29° / 24° / 20° |
| Wading depth | 700 mm |

| Toyota Hilux BEV | Dimensions |
|---|---|
| Ground clearance | 207 mm |
Toyota has helpfull integrated a rear step into the bumper of the Hilux, which is very useful for getting into the rear load deck. It's also an easy step to reach, as the ground clearance for the Hilux BEV is just 207mm.

Double cab pick-ups are contentions because of their dual use ability and the new taxation laws brought in for pick-up trucks, has made them expensive to buy as a company car.
However, if you are thinking of buying one, you'll need to know the internal dimensions of the Hilux BEV.
The interior has a total length of 1,676mm, with a width of 1,428mm and a height of 1,165mm.

Likewise, the load bed or load deck of the Hilux BEV is where the important work is done. You might not be able to carry the same payload as a combustion engine model, but you can certainly carry the same load sizes.
The load bed dimensions for the Hilux BEV are unchanged and measure as follows.
The loadspace length is 1,555mm and the width is 1,540mm. Giving you just over 1.5m2 of load deck space.
The height of the containing body is 480mm.
