Mitsubishi will return to the UK market next year with two new models, six years after ending sales in the country.
The all-new Outlander PHEV and the latest-generation Mitsubishi L200 Series 7 double-cab pickup will arrive in summer 2026. Both vehicles will be available in limited numbers at launch, which marks the revival of two of the brand’s most successful models.
The original Outlander PHEV launched in 2014 as one of the first electrified SUVs, and went on to become the UK’s best-selling plug-in hybrid for a decade, with more than 50,000 registrations.
The new model is a ground-up redesign, slightly larger in every dimension and powered by an upgraded 2.4-litre petrol engine paired with front and rear electric motors.
Mitsubishi says the EV-based 4WD system delivers more than 300hp and a total driving range of over 500 miles. It also features a Super-All Wheel Control system and for the first time in the UK, a seven-seat option.

Mitsubishi’s L200 pickup also makes a comeback in Series 7 form. More than 180,000 L200 pick-ups were sold since the mid-1980s, making it one of the country’s most popular pickups.
The newest version is billed as the most capable yet, featuring a heavily reworked 2.4-litre bi-turbo diesel engine with increased power and torque. It also has the the Super Select 4WD-II system with a full set of selectable drive modes including Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand and Rock.
Inside, the Series 7 has had a major upgrade in materials over the previous version we've seen in the UK, with a new cabin design and improved technology.
Sharon Townsend, head of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said: “We are excited to announce the two new Mitsubishi models that will go on sale in the UK in summer 2026. While the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and the Mitsubishi L200 are familiar, much-loved, and respected names in the UK, we will be introducing the very latest models, which feature significant design, technology, and performance upgrades over their predecessors.”
Prices and full specifications for both models will be confirmed closer to launch.
