Ford has doubled-down on the mid-sized electric van category with a brand new nameplate in the Transit family, but here's what you need to know about the Ford Transit City battery size, range capacity and charging speeds.
The Ford Transit City was revealed as an add-on to the Transit range occupying much of the same real estate as the Ford E-Transit Custom. However, despite being a similar size to the E-Transit Custom it has one major difference, it's battery capacity is just 56kWh.
Transit City comes in two sizes, an L1H1 and an L2H2, so naturally Ford is keen to point out the range of the smaller van. Ford claims that the smallest version has a WLTP claimed range of 158 miles (254km).
This, they say, is sufficient for 90% of its target electric van customers to do the 60-something miles they're usually doing in a day.

We've not yet had a chance to drive the Transit City, but as soon as we have we'll update you on the real world performance and the expected range of this new van.
Power comes from a 56kWh LFP battery, paired to a 110kW motor.
If that sounds quite small for a medium-sized van, that's because it is. The Ford E-Transit Custom has a 70kWh battery pack, and the Stellantis-made Vauxhall Vivaro has a 68kWh battery.
The Transit City, though, has been built with price in mind, so while it might be small right now, it's also relatively cheap.
The Ford Transit City will charge at speeds of up to 87kW using a DC rapid charger.
Ford cites 87kW as the peak level, with an average of 67kW.
That's enough to add 10-80% of charge in around 30 minutes or to add 31 miles (50km) in just 10 minutes.
There's also an oboard 11kW AC charger which will give you a charge from 10-100% in around five hours.
