The Farizon SV has been awarded a Platinum safety rating from Euro NCAP.
The SV received a score of 85 points making it one of just a handful of commercial vehicles to get the top rating. The award also makes Farizon the top-ranked Chinese electric van brand in the Euro NCAP ratings.
The Farizon SV performed particularly well in tests of its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), achieving a 95% score in Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) tests for scenarios including stationary vehicles and low-speed driving.
The vehicle also demonstrated precise and swift responses to pedestrians and cyclists in crossing and longitudinal driving situations, with a maximum longitudinal speed of 80 km/h. Perfect scores were awarded for both Lane Support Systems (LSS) and Occupant Status Monitoring (OSM).
Since 2021, Euro NCAP has expanded its testing to include commercial vans, assessing over 95% of available models in the European market. These updated and more stringent testing standards present a significant challenge for vehicle manufacturers.
The Farizon SV is being introduced to the UK market by Jameel Motors, a mobility solutions provider. Jameel Motors partnered with Farizon Auto, the commercial vehicle division of Geely Holding Group, to distribute new energy commercial vehicles in the UK.
“The Farizon SV was designed and engineered to meet or exceed European standards in every regard, including safety, and this result is testament to the rigorous testing and development process undertaken by the Farizon team,” explains Andy Carroll, Country Manager, Jameel Motors Farizon Auto.
He added: “Van users and fleets of today and tomorrow can choose the Farizon SV with utmost confidence. Not only is it setting new benchmarks in safety, but several world-first advanced technologies, including its born-electric and drive-by-wire platform, means it offers more cargo space, greater range and a more convenient and comfortable driver experience.”
Scheduled to launch in the first half of 2025, the SV will be available in three vehicle lengths and three heights. There will also be two battery sizes: 67 kWh and 83 kWh, with a third 106-kWh battery option to follow.
Full UK specification and pricing will be announced in due course, along with a date for start of sales.
