Ford has unveiled new MS-RT versions of its popular Ranger pickup and Transit Custom van.
The new Ford Ranger MS-RT PHEV and Ford E-Tourneo Custom MS-RT models get the usual rally-inspired styling synonymous with the M-Sport models, which have long been a popular aftermarket modification for Ford products.
Now available as official from the factory trim options, the MS-RT range has expanded to include the passenger van version of the Ford E-Transit Custom, as well as a hybrid version of the Ranger pick-up, the Ford Ranger PHEV.
The vehicles are a result of a partnership between Ford's global engineering team and MS-RT, an offshoot of the company's long-standing rally partner, M-Sport.
The new models follow the successful launch of the Ranger MS-RT and Transit Custom MS-RT vans last year.
Brendan Lyne, director of marketing and sales at Ford Pro Europe, described the vehicles as the "ultimate street vehicles for owners who never sit still and businesses that want to make a real statement."
The Ranger MS-RT PHEV is based on the all-new Ranger PHEV, Europe’s best-selling pickup for the last decade.
It gets a new honeycomb grille, integrated splitter, and a distinctive rear bumper with an integrated diffuser. Its suspension has been lowered by 40mm with revised dampers, and the track width has been increased by 40mm on each side.
The design is inspired by extreme Ranger racing trucks, featuring flared wheel arches to accommodate 21-inch diamond-cut wheels and low-profile tyres.
A ducktail spoiler on the tailgate and a cab spoiler enhance aerodynamic stability at higher speeds. Inside, the double-cab features sports seats in Eco-Leather and suede with blue contrast stitching and illuminated MS-RT badges.
The E-Tourneo Custom MS-RT, meanwhile, is an electric multi-activity vehicle designed for families or adventerous types who can live with crazy colours available, like Turini Purple and Sunset Orange.
Changes made by MS-RT include an aerodynamic front bumper with a spoiler, sport side skirts, and a rear bumper with a diffuser.
It also includes a "coast-to-coast" LED light strip running along the bonnet for a more noticeable, shall we say, road presence. It also gets 19-inch Anthracite alloy wheels, which are wider than standard, increasing track width by over 50mm, and are paired with low-profile tyres for improved grip and stability.
Both models will be finished at a dedicated facility at the Ford Dagenham Estate in the UK.
They are expected to be available for order through Ford dealers across Europe later this year, with deliveries beginning in 2026.
