Get a home charging wall box for just £10

November 7, 2024

Is it Black Friday yet? If so, Ford has probably won it with the best possible deal you'll find on a home charging setup.

Between 11th October and 31st December you can get a Ford Pro Home Charging bundle for just a tenner.

It includes a Keba P30x charging box, standard installation, and a 12-month free subscription to Ford Pro Charging Software.

But, there's a catch, you must buy either a Ford E-Transit or a Ford E-Transit Custom, which will set you back a few quid more than the £10 deal.

However, if you're in the market for either a medium electric van or a large electric van then the deal is a pretty good one.

Here's where we bring out our inner Martin Lewis money saving expert and explain the benefits. Normally, a Home Charger for someone ordering a Ford BEV without this offer would cost £999 (including VAT).

The deal also includes a five-year hardware warranty for the charger, and on top of that there's 12 months of complimentary access to Ford Pro home charging software that enables you to keep an eye on how the charging of your van is going.

The home charger will charge at speeds of up to 22kW and with its own 4G connection it allows you to schedule charging.

That should ensure that your vehicle is not only charged for the morning, but also nicely pre-conditioned with a warm cabin and no frost in the winter months. It should also mean you can take advantage of cheaper overnight energey, if you have the right electricity tariff.

The downside is that the vans aren't cheap. A Ford E-Transit has a cash price of £54,700 and the Ford E-Transit Custom will set you back £43,380 at the moment. There are of course deals to be had, and the UK Plug-In Van Grant can contributes as much as £5,000 towards the cost of a new electric van.

Aside from the fact that you have to buy a new van, the deal still looks like a bargain.
