Isuzu UK has unveiled the New Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Commercial, a new premium-spec, two-seater model engineered specifically for professional use.

The new D-Max Commercial combines the Isuzu’s flagship V-Cross with full commercial vehicle compliance for the new HMRC tax rules for pick-up trucks. The new variant is designed for SMEs, farmers, tradespeople and construction professionals who need a proper working pick-up with long-term tax efficiency.

Based on the multi-award-winning V-Cross Double Cab, the new model has undergone a professional factory conversion into a two-seater commercial vehicle. The rear passenger area has been permanently transformed into a secure load zone, ensuring it meets HMRC’s definition of a full commercial vehicle and cannot be returned to passenger use.

As standard, the V-Cross Commercial comes equipped with a lightweight canopy, tow bar with electrics, load bed liner, tinted rear passenger windows, and protective seat covers. The model also carries distinctive “Commercial” badging to reflect its dedicated professional role.

Built on Isuzu’s proven D-Max platform, the new Commercial version retains the same 3.5-tonne towing capacity and 1-tonne payload that have made the D-Max a favourite among businesses.

It gets the same permanent 4WD, Rough Terrain Mode, and a rear differential lock as the rest of the D-Max range. However, unlike the other double-cab pick-ups on offer, the D-Max Commercial is fully compliant as a commercial vehicle.

The D-Max V-Cross Commercial offers a series of financial advantages over a regular double-cab pick-up.

Businesses can reclaim VAT, benefit from the fixed £345 annual road tax, and claim 100% Plant & Machinery Allowance.

For company users, the Benefit-in-Kind remains a flat £4,020 for the 2025/26 tax year, rather than the CO2 based levels the double-cabs now fall into.

These factors make the model especially appealing to SMEs and self-employed users affected by changes to pick-up taxation from April 2025.

Isuzu D-Max Commercial side profile

Despite its commercial focus, the V-Cross Commercial standard features include leather upholstery trim, dual-zone climate control, and a wireless 9-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 7-inch digital instrument cluster, USB-C ports, and an upgraded ADAS suite with Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control and Traffic Jam Assist.

Each V-Cross Commercial comes with Isuzu’s five-year/125,000-mile warranty and five years of UK and European roadside assistance.

With a kerb weight under 2,040kg, it also qualifies for standard passenger car speed limits for pick-ups on dual carriageways and motorways, offering both comfort and efficiency for frequent drivers.

Alan Able, MD at Isuzu UK, said: “The New Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Commercial is the perfect solution for SMEs, trades, farmers and construction professionals who need a tax-efficient pick-up that works as hard as they do. We’ve listened closely to feedback from our customers, who wanted a rugged 4x4 with the premium features of our flagship model. The V-Cross Commercial delivers exactly that - a serious, purpose-built commercial vehicle that’s as capable as it is comfortable.”

Priced at £41,995 on the road, the D-Max V-Cross Commercial is already available to order now, with first deliveries due this month.
