Ford Pro has announced its latest updates for the E-Transit Custom, with more range and quicker charging batteries.

From early 2026, new Ford E-Transit Custom models will get an upgraded 71kWh usable battery, up from today’s 64kWh unit, which Ford says gives more than 10% additional driving range.

The official WLTP figures will show be up to 373 km on a single charge for the 2026 E-Transit Custom.

The E-Transit Custom charging performance also gets an improvement, with the updated 2026 vans using a 125 kW DC fast charger. The new batteries will be able to be charged from will charge from 10–80% in around 29 minutes, 10 minutes quicker than before.

It's not just good news for customers looking to order a new 2026 van, though.

Existing E-Transit Custom customers aren’t left behind thanks to Ford Pro’s over-the-air (OTA) updates. Vans already in service can get improved DC fast charging speeds too, cutting their 10–80% time to around 25 minutes, a 14-minute saving. That means an extra 111 km of range can be added in roughly 10 minutes.

AWD option broadens capability

Ford Pro is also expanding the E-Transit Custom line-up with a new all-wheel-drive (AWD) option, available with 100 kW, 160 kW or 210 kW electric drive units.

The 210 kW system, exclusive to Sport and MS-RT models, delivers 630 Nm of torque from standstill, with over 50% more power than the rear-wheel-drive version.

It also introduces more regenerative braking force, real-time traction management (monitoring slip up to 50 times per second) and a Trail mode for loose-surface driving.

E-Tourneo Custom also gets updated

The people-moving E-Tourneo Custom receives the same upgrades, with AWD now available in 160kW and 210kW forms. New models will also get the 71 kWh battery, while existing examples also receive OTA charging improvements.

“We’re committed to ensuring businesses get the best out of their vehicles, by continuing to enhance the product once it’s in their hands and delivering a full ecosystem of Ford Pro software and services for maximum productivity,” said Hans Schep, general manager, Ford Pro Europe.
