Ranger PHEV gains new Limited and posh Platinum trim levels

November 26, 2025

Ford has added two new trim levels to the Ranger PHEV line-up, widening the appeal of the plug-in hybrid pickup.

The new Platinum specification will sit at the top of the range and offers a more luxurious option for buyers wanting higher comfort levels in their plug-in hybrid Ranger double-cab pick-up.

Standard kit included Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driver assistance, Matrix LED headlamps, 360 Zone Lighting and power adjustable heated and vented front seats. Pro Trailer Backup Assist was also fitted as standard.

Below it, the Limited trim provides a more road-focused option aimed at users wanting a sportier look without all the bells and whistles of the Wildtrak.

Both the Limited and Platinum models get updated exterior styling, including darker grille and trim finishes, as well as interior changes that adopted new gloss black and Magnetite accents in place of chrome.

The new additions join the existing XLT and Wildtrak models, while the launch edition Stormtrak will no longer be available, having been a limited run of models that get Pro Power Onboard and a unique paint colour as standard.

All models get a standard 12-inch touchscreen and 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster, while Platinum models are available with a choice of colour updates including a new Acacia Green pearlescent finish.

The Ranger PHEV uses a 2.3-litre EcoBoost petrol engine paired with a 75 kW electric motor and 11.8 kWh battery.

The system produces 281hp and up to 697 Nm of torque and has an electric-only range of 43km.

Crucially, towing capacity remains at 3,500 kg with a one-tonne payload, matching the diesel V6.

Ford’s plug-in hybrid pick-up was last week named the winner of the International Pick-Up Award 2026/27. It beat competition from Chinese brands Maxus and Foton, as well as the Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster.

Orders for the new Ranger PHEV Limited and Platinum trims are open now, with first deliveries scheduled to start in the new year.
