Used light commercial vehicle values at BCA averaged £8,325 in October, the second highest monthly figure of 2025 and £824, or 11 per cent, above the same month last year.
The auction company recorded more than 2,700 unique buyers during the month, its highest total to date, with competitive bidding pushing sold volumes past 9,700.
Performance against guide prices for used vans stayed more than 7% ahead.
Strong trading through 2025 has lifted the average used LCV price across the year to £8,049, equal to more than 105 per cent of guide expectations. More than 8,700 individual buyers have purchased vehicles so far this year.
Stuart Pearson, BCA COO UK, said “We have experienced continued strong levels of demand for light commercial vehicles this year, with average values during September and October being ahead of anything we have seen for over 18 months.”
“Buyer engagement has reached new record levels and as we move into the peak season for the home delivery sector, there is every expectation that demand for used LCVs will remain robust and competition should ensure pricing stability between now and the end of the year.”
Pearson added that weak new van registrations were helping to support the used market. “With new LCV sales remaining depressed according to the latest data reported by the SMMT, the used LCVs on offer at BCA provide the choice and value that SMEs and sole traders need when it comes to sourcing their next commercial vehicle.”
Pearson said BCA’s online sales platform was underpinning activity: “BCA's Online Commercial Vehicle sales programme, selling seven days a week, combined with the products and services specifically designed to support the LCV sector, ensures that sellers have the right tools and platform to remarket their LCVs, while buyer customers are able to source more of the right stock in the best condition, whenever they want to and in the easiest way possible.”
