The Citroen Dispatch is a stalwart of the medium van segment and has been one of Citroen's bestsellers over the years, but it's become just another name amongst a whole host of Stellantis vans that all share a platform, and which of course all share the exact same Citroen Dispatch dimensions.
So, although this is a guide to the numerous sizes of the Citroen Dispatch including the load dimensions as well as the overal length, width and height for the Disptach, it could quite easily be a dimensions guide for any one of the other vans in the range.
Nevertheless, you're hear for the Citroen Dispatch dimenions, so we'll talk about the length, width and height, as well as the loadspace or cargo area dimensions.
This guide is also the measurements of the Citroen Dispatch that went on sale from 2016 through to present day. While a few minor measurements might have changed over the years, particularly after the 2021 facelift, these measurements are accurate and from the official Citroen Dispatch brochure at the time of writing.
If you're coming to this from the continent, this is also a guide to the Citroen Jumpy dimensions. For those that don't know, the Jumpy is the name for Dispatch outside of the UK and the dimensions are unsurprisngly the same.
So, let's start with the internet's most commonly asked question about the Dispatch, which is...
The Citroen Dispatch has an overall height of just 1895mm. It's one of the lowest mid-sized vans on the market.
The Dispatch range is exceptionally simple compared to many medium sized vans. Citroen sells the Dispatch with just two body lengths - called M and XL. There's also only one height to the Dispatch van. This makes explaining the Citroen Dispatch size really nice and straight forward.
4959mm (L) x 2512mm (w) x 1895mm (h)
5300mm (L) x 2512mm (w) x 1895mm (h)
You'll notice that the only difference is the overall length between the M and the XL bodies, the rest stays the same. The large XL van adds 341mm to the overall length of the Dispatch. Most of which is translated into the size of the Dispatch cargo area measurements which increase by 320mm for the long wheelbase XL van.
The Citroen Dispatch or Citroen Jump dimensions are really simple, there's a van that is 5m in length or 5.3m in length.
The overall width is 2.2m and the height of the Dispatch van is 1.9m.
You can carry lengths of between 2.5m and 4m, depending on the overall shape of it, and whether or not it will fit through the bulkhead hatch which increases storage capacity in the panel vans by going under the passenger seat.
The overall load area width in the Dispatch is 1.6m.
Citroen Dispatch | Dimensions |
---|---|
External length | 4,959 mm to 5300mm |
External width | 2,204 mm |
Height unladen | 1,895 mm |
Load length (with hatch) | 2,512 mm - 4020mm |
Load width | 1,628 mm |
Load Volume | 5.3m3 - 6.6m3 |
Other important dimensions of the Dispatch may include the rear overhangs which are 802mm for the M size van, and the 1152mm for the XL version.
It's all really straightforward, made easier by the fact that there's just one height, a standard width and only two body lengths.
As already mentioned the most important part of the Dispatch dimensions is that it has two different lengths.
But, the Dispatch's size gets a little more complicated when you look at the load length and the measurements on the inside.
That's because the Dispatch has a secret weapon within, a folding hatch under the passenger seat that boosts the overall maxmimum length of what you can carry. It's called the Moduwork bulkhead hatch.
There's a choice of two vehicle lengths, as we've already mentioned, but with those it is also possible to extend the loading area up to 3.67m in the standard version, and 4.02m in the XL version of the Dispatch.
The Citroen Dispatch's dimensions are dramatically improved with the hatch, making it as possible to carry similar lengths to a large van, but in a medium van.
The Citroen Dispatch has a regular load length of 2512mm for the M size van. The Citroen Dispatch XL van has a load length of 3852mm. However, both can be increased by the addition of a folding load hatch to give 3670mm for the standard and 4020mm for the XL.
The maximum load width for the Dispath is 1626mm, that's the widest measurement on the inside of the Dispatch. However, there's the small matter of the rear wheels intruding into the loadspace.
So the important measurement you will likely need to know is that the maximum load width between the wheelarches is 1258mm.
The interior dimensions of the Dispatch are some of the best on the market, but it is one of the lowest vans in the segment. That means that you're losing out a little bit in the overall internal height of the Dispatch loadspace.
The maximum load height of the Citroen Dispatch is 1397mm.
The Citroen Dispatch has a minimum overall load volume of 5.3m3 which can increase to 5.8m3 with the addition of the folding hatch.
The Citroen Dispatch XL has an overall load volume of 6.1m3 that increases to 6.6m33 when you use the load through hatch.
Someone once said a van's doors are the gateway to the soul. Well, not really, but they are the entrance to your vans interior. That makes them pretty important.
The side doors of the Citroen Dispatch have a maximum width of 935mm and a height of 1241mm.
The rear doors, which are barn doors, that open with the right door first, then the left, have a maximum width of 1282mm and a height of 1220mm.
