OHM Vehicles launches OHM 35 BEV electric van

April 20, 2023

OHM Vehicles has launched the OHM 35 BEV, a 3.5-tonne electric light commercial chassis cab in the UK and Irish markets.

OHM Vehicles was established in 2021 to develop a new standard of battery electric vehicles for the light commercial sector. The company unveiled its first left-hand drive models for the European market at the IAA Transportation in Hanover in September 2022, and will now be imported into the UK by Fapi Motors who are hoping to attract new dealers off the back of the van's launch at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham.

The OHM 35 BEV is said to use an ultra-efficient electric motor that delivers 3,150Nm of peak torque. Its lightweight chassis and battery assembly have been specifically designed with bodybuilder flexibility in mind, making it suitable for a range of applications such as refuse collection, dry freight, ambient and temperature-controlled transport. While the energy conversion technology is claimed to allow the OHM 35 BEV to run at sustained high speeds over longer distances.

The electric van's range is a claimed 280km and the chassis has a total payload capacity of up to two tonnes.

The OHM 35 BEV is equipped with the latest telematics and connected technologies, enabling a dedicated control room to continuously monitor the vehicle's performance. This allows for remote diagnosis and preventative maintenance measures to reduce downtime and ensure the vehicle is always operational.

A supporting app will enable drivers to contact OHM's aftersales technical service team through the MY-OHM app and online portal. For dealers or workshops, the app enables access to updated vehicle information to provide a quick and efficient aftersales service. The app also allows users to track and improve their driving habits, activate OHM's assistance service, and remotely access diagnostic information about the vehicle.

Fleet operators benefit from a comprehensive solution that helps to simplify driver behavior monitoring and the management of their commercial vehicle fleet.

Established in 2021, Singapore-based OHM Vehicles operates a ‘satellite’ manufacturing site in China and has partner facilities across Europe.
