Renault reveals new Estafette, Goelette and Trafic vans

February 10, 2025

Renault has revealed the names and styling of its new range of full electric vans built on the same platform shared with the recently revealed Flexis van range.

The new Renault Estafette, Goelette and Trafic will be new additions to the E-Tech electric van range, adopting a skateboard platform that will enable numerous body type possibilities.

The most familiar name will be the Trafic E-Tech, with this fourth-generation model set to carry the name into an electrified future for the brand – a Trafic E-Tech currently exists in the range but this will be an entirely new model.

The Trafic will be the panel van model in the line-up with a city friendly van dimensions of less than 1.9m height to enable it to park in underground car parks.

Renault says its design cues give the van “high-tech looks, showcasing the backlit upper strip, with side DRLs underlining its cutting-edge character”.

The cargo box van, model will be named the Renault Goelette E-Tech electric, utilising a name that was first on the road in 1956.

A popular van for fleets or small business, the new Goelette looks to replicate that appeal with three versions, a chassis cab, cargo box and tipper.

Lastly, as expected after their concept vehicle appeared last year, the Estafette name returns with a reboot of Renault's iconic 1960s van.

On sale between 1959 and 1980, more than half a million models were produced and the new Estafette offers the largest sizes of the new vans.

It’s relatively short length (5.27m) is contrasted by the 1.92m width and 2.6m height. Internally it has enough head room to allow an adult to stand upright, and features a walk-through bulkhead to allow the driver to easily move between the cockpit and cargo area.

The Estafette E-Tech gets a sliding side door with an invisible integrated track, and running boards on both sides for easier entry and exit from the vehicle. At the rear there is also a single-piece roller shutter door.

Like the Flexis range of vans, models are expected in the market later next year, with Renault Trucks also set to sell their own version of the vans.

All models will be built in France, at the Sandouville plant, the current home of Trafic production.
