July updates for Kia PV5 include new 3-seat option

Kia PV5 Cargo gets comfort and practicality upgrades for 2027 model-year van with a big focus on seating

Kia is already updating the PV5 Cargo, with model-year 2027 changes aimed at improving comfort, refinement and everyday usability.

The updates include standard driver’s lumbar support across all PV5 Cargo models, plus a new multi-position height adjustable armrest on two-seat versions. The big van news, though, is that customers will now be able to order a three-seat version of the PV5 van.

Kia says the changes follow early customer feedback, with the brand acting quickly to improve the van after its first months on sale.

A three-seat option will be introduced, initially for the PV5 Cargo L2/H1, after Kia said customers had repeatedly asked why a three-seat version was not available from launch.

The three-seat bench will arrive from July production, although the two-seat layout will continue to be offered for operators who prefer to prevent personal use or keep the cab more open.

One compromise, however, is that three-seat models lose the driver armrest, but two-seat versions do gain the improved armrest as part of the MY27 package.

The PV5 Cargo will also get a new composite bulkhead, designed to improve cabin refinement and reduce noise from the load area.

Another useful change is a revised roof antenna, which reduces the overall height of the PV5 Cargo to 1,899mm. That brings it below the 1.9-metre mark, helping access to many height-restricted car parks.

The MY27 updates come as Kia expands the PV5 Cargo range with the new L1/H1 and L2/H2 body styles and different PV5 dimensions.

The L1/H1 will offer a shorter, more manoeuvrable version with 4 cubic metres of loadspace and payload expected at up to 800kg. The L2/H2 will add a higher roof and 5.2 cubic metres of load volume.

Kia is also planning Crew and Chassis variants of the PV5 later in 2026.

The Crew model will use a flexible sliding bulkhead and folding rear seat arrangement, allowing it to switch between five-seat passenger use and cargo carrying.

UK pricing, availability and full specification details for the MY27 PV5 Cargo updates are expected to be announced in June.
