Kia has expanded its PV5 Cargo range with a series of MY27 upgrades designed to improve comfort, usability and everyday practicality.
A new body size will also go on sale with confirmation that order books are now open for the short wheelbase PV5 Cargo L1/H1.
The new compact PV5 becomes the new entry point to the range, and measures 200mm shorter than the existing L2/H1. The newcomer is designed specifically for city-based applications where manoeuvrability is just as important as load-carrying ability.
Despite its reduced footprint, the L1/H1 still offers 4.0m³ of load volume, only 0.4m³ less than the larger L2/H1. The smaller dimensions also contribute to a slight increase in the PV5 payload, with maximum capacity rising to 800kg on selected models.

Customers can choose between the same battery options available elsewhere in the PV5 range. A 51.5kWh Standard Range battery delivers up to 177 miles of WLTP combined range, while the larger 71.2kWh Long Range battery increases that figure to 243 miles.

At launch, the L1/H1 will be offered exclusively as a two-seat van, although a three-seat version is planned for early 2027.
Alongside the new model, Kia has introduced a number of MY27 updates across the entire PV5 Cargo line-up. Driver comfort has been enhanced with standard lumbar support and a multi-position armrest for two-seat versions, while a new composite bulkhead is intended to improve cabin refinement.
One of the most practical changes is the introduction of a redesigned roof antenna, which reduces the vehicle’s overall height to 1,899mm. This brings the PV5 below the critical 1.9-metre threshold, improving access to height-restricted car parks and urban locations.
Other updates include Walk Away Lock functionality and the option of either two or three seats at no additional cost on L2/H1 models.
The new L1/H1 starts from £27,355 plus VAT for the Standard Range Essential model. Pricing rises to £30,855 plus VAT for the Long Range Plus variant. Like the rest of the range, all versions qualify for the Government’s £5,000 Zero-Emission Van Grant.
The existing L2/H1 line-up remains available and has also received the MY27 upgrades. Prices for the larger model now start from £28,355 plus VAT.
All PV5 Cargo variants can be specified with an additional nearside sliding door for £355 plus VAT, while premium paint costs £625 plus VAT. A heat pump is now offered exclusively on Long Range Plus models.
Orders for the updated PV5 Cargo range opened on 8 June through Kia’s UK PBV Centre network, with first customer deliveries expected from October.
The latest expansion follows the PV5’s debut at the CV Show and forms part of Kia’s wider commercial vehicle strategy.
Further additions to the range are already in the pipeline, including the recently unveiled PV5 Cargo L2/H2 high-roof model, which is due to arrive later this year.
