Diving into the specifics of the Ford E-Transit Courier dimensions? You've landed in the perfect spot.
Whether you're considering the switch to electric and want to explore its practicalities – a smart move, by the way – or you're already an E-Transit Courier owner seeking to nail down precise details, this dimensions guide is your go-to place for everything from the length, width and height to all the interior dimensions of the van.
The E-Transit Courier is Ford's most compact electric van offering, so naturally, its dimensions are petite as well. However, don't let its size fool you, the E-Transit dimensions pack in the productivity at every inch. It's a surprisingly spacious van and effectively bridges the gap to its larger electric counterparts.
In this guide, we'll dissect every aspect of the E-Transit Courier's size and dimensions, including its length, width, height, and the critical load space and interior measurements.
For those interested in the E-Transit Courier's payload or other weight specifications, our dedicated van weight pages will provide in-depth information on the electric Courier and many others, and there's also a similar page for towing capacity.
If you're looking for the size of the Transit Courier diesel combusiont engine van then there's a Transit Courier dimensions page just for that.

Right, on with the show... I mean dimensions.
The Ford E-Transit Courier is available in a single configuration with a L1H1 panel van.
It comes with a 2692mm wheelbase that translates to a 4.4m overall length. No other dimensions size currently exist in the E-Transit Courier line-up.
In terms of width and height, it measures 2m and 1.8m, respectively making it slightly smaller than the Ford Transit Connect. It's a perfectly sized city van, even if it does tred on the toes of its bigger sibling, slightly.
Whether you opt for the electric, petrol, or diesel versions, the exterior Courier dimensions remain identical.
The E-Transit Courier gets a tight 10.7m turning circle, great for city streets - where it's likely to find its home.
Ford E-Transit Courier | Dimensions |
---|---|
Width (With Mirrors) | 2,076 mm |
Width (Without Mirrors) | 1,800 mm |
Height | 1,827 mm |
Length (Without Tow Bar) | 4,337 mm |
Turning Circle | 10.70 m |
Because there is only one body length the overall size of the electric Courier is pretty simple to explain.
Officially the overall length of the Ford E-Transit Courier is 4337mm which is the complete measurement nose to tail without a tow bar.
Adding a tow bar? You'll likely increase the overall length by around 230mm.
Just like the length, there is of course only one width to the electric Courier.
Looking at the specification, the official width of the Ford E-Transit Courier is 1,800mm.
The Ford E-Transit Courier has an overall height of 1827mm. That's the standard height quoted by Ford in their official brochure for the electric version of the van.
However, the height does change if you make some important chance, as there's also the option of having larger wheels.
Decide to go for bigger wheels and you'll find that the 1827mm height for the 15-inch wheels, increases with the optional 17-inch wheels to 1850mm.
The Ford E-Transit Courier load dimensions are pretty decent for a small van.
The overall cargo space length is 1.8m, with a width of 1.5m and internal height of 1.26m.
Although the bulkhead redudes the overall length a touch, it's not a massive amount, and the cargo area is relatively square which means that there really is a useful amount of space - that's actually useable.
A single side door comes as standard, however, you can specify a second side door. If you want to load something in through the side door, the appeture is 528mm, while its height is 1069mm.
The rear doors open up to a nice and useful 180 degrees - great for overall access, but they are of different sizes.
Take a closer look and you'll see that the left-hand door is slightly larger than the right hand door. This, Ford says, helps with access.
They're right, it does, but you do have to get used to how they open and remember that it's the left door which is the one that you must open first. What it does mean is that you don't have to keep opening both doors to get access - which you would likely have to do if they were both the same size.
With both doors wide open, the total rear door appeture is 1235mm, and it has a height of 1120mm.
Ford E-Transit Courier | Dimensions |
---|---|
Loadspace Length | 1,802 mm |
Loadspace Height | 1,262 mm |
Loadspace Width | 1,535 mm |
Side Door Width | 528 mm |
Side Door Height | 1,069 mm |
Rear Door Width | 1,235 mm |
Rear Door Height | 1,120 mm |
Maximum load length for the Ford E-Transit Courier is 1802mm, but Ford has become masters and maximising space. You'll find a hidden door in the bulkhead that increases the overall maximum length to and impressive 2667mm.
The hatch in the bulkhead allows you to carry long items like pipes or wooden battons, giving you an additional 80cm of length which runs over the top of the folding passenger seat and right the way to the glovebox.
It raises capacity from 1802mm to 2667mm, which is impressive, however, it's still not the biggest usable length you'll find in a compact van because the Citroen Berlingo or Peugeot Partner get slightly more space in the footwell.
Width measurements are very straight forward in the E-Transit Courier. Overall load width is 1220mm between the wheelarches and there's 1535mm at its widest point in the electric Courier's rear.
As you can see from the picture that enough for one standard size pallet or up to two Euro pallets can be transported side by side.
Annd because of the wide opening rear door appetures, you could even use a forklift to load your pallets in through the rear doors.
The internal height for the E-Transit Courier is 1262mm which is the measurement from the floor to the ceiling. It's the same trhoughout with no intrusions for other obstacles in the way.
Load volume is a bit of a funny one as it can be calculated in all manner of ways, but the overall load volume acoording to Ford is 2.91 cubic metres for the E-Transit Courier.
Including the space created by the load-through hatch the capacity rises to 3 cubic metres.
Ford E-Transit Courier | Volume |
---|---|
Loadspace Capacity | 2.91 m3 |
That's the breakdown of the Ford Transit Courier van dimensions and measurements, so to recap there's a helpful table below.
The E-Transit Courier is a compact van that sits at the bottom end of the small van segment. It measures 4.3m in length, and is 1.8m high and 1.8m wide.
