The Toyota Proace Max is a new name to the large van sector having been introduced in 2024 when Toyota expanded its range to include a big van. Built by Stellantis, it is based on their range of vans so shares the same sizes as the Citroen Relay dimensions, Fiat Ducato dimensions, Peugeot Boxer dimensions and Vauxhall Movano dimensions.
The Proace Max is the largest vehicle in the Toyota Professional range and comes in four configurations. There are two wheelbase lengths, three overall lengths and two height options. In it's largest size the Toyota Proace Max has a 17mยณ cargo volume capacity.
So... let's break down the Toyota Proace Max size across the range. There are a total of three van lengths (medium, large and extra-large) and two roof heights (standard and high).

Toyota Proace Max has a height of up to 2.76m, measured from the ground to the highest point on the roof. This is for the H3 sized version. A total of two van roof heights are available.
The Proace Max interior height varies depending on the overall roof height of the van but has a range from 1932mm to 2172mm.
The overall length of the Toyota Proace Max ranges from 5413mm to 6363mm. There are three different lengths based on two wheelbases.
On the inside, the maximum internal length of a Toyota Proace Max van is 4070mm or 4.07m. The total internal loadspace lengths ranges from 3210mm to 4070mm.
The overall width of the Toyota Proace Max is 2050mm which is the measurement from the widest part of the body and excludes the door mirrors.

The Proace Max L2H2 internal height is 1.93m, enough for an adult to stand in the rear, making the H2 van suitable for a camper van conversion van.

Toyota Proace Max LWB van or L3 size has a longer wheelbase which means that there's an additional 585mm in the chassis which increases the overall length of the van to 5.99m
The LWB L3 Proace Max van is also available in two roof heights with a standard H2 height or the taller H3 option.
This is the everyman van in the range, likely to be the most common version. The Proace Max L3H2 dimensions make it a really flexible van for any job, whether you're a builder, courier or looking for a caravan conversion.
Its overall length of 5.99m means that there's additional space in the rear and the 2.52m height gives it plenty of head room and volume.

As an L3 van, the Toyota Proace Max gets more load length in its cargo space - an extra 585mm over the L2 variants to be precise.
The added length comes from a longer wheelbase. Unsurprisingly, the Proace Max L3H2 internal dimensions increase by exactly the same amount as the wheelbase, an additional 585mm. The extra 0.58m in length also increases the total cargo area giving the van a maximum length of 3.7m.

The internal dimensions of the Proace Max L3H3 allow you to move up to 3.7m in total length in the cargo space, while the H3 height of 2.17m leaves ample space for tall people.

Extra-long wheelbase or ELWV is an L4 version of the Toyota Proace Max. The increase, however, doesn't come from an extra-long wheelbase, but instead is made by increasing the rear overhang of the van - that's the section behind the rear axle of the van.
By adding 365mm more to the overhang the Proace Max now has a total length of 6.36m. There's also the option of two different roof heights with both H2 and H3 roofs.
Adding 365mm for the Proace Max L4 van means the total length increases to 6.36m. That's a monster of a van in comparison to the other versions and even some competitors like the Ford Transit dimensions.

The lengthiest of all Proace Max models can swallow up lengths of up to 4070mm thanks to the additional space which comes from the increased rear overhang.

The Toyota Proace Max L4H3 is the biggest van in the range with the highest roof height and longest body length. Measuring up at more than 6.3m in length and at a height of 2.76m it's also one of the biggest vans on sale.

An enormous 4m load length and 2.1m of internal height gives the Toyota Proace Max L4H3 the largest internal dimensions and load capacity of any conventional 3.5-tonne van.

The Toyota Proace Max has a load volume of 10m3 up to 17m3. The largest Proace Max is the L4H3 model with a capacity for 17m3 cargo volume.
The smaller L4H2 and L3H3 vans both share a 15m3 cargo space load volume, while the lower roof of the Proace Max L3H2 van drops the volume down to 13m3.
The smallest Toyota Proace Max for load volume is the L2H2 with a capacity of 11.5m3.

The Proace Max has a loading height of between 535mm and 565mm, depending on the size of the van and its payload, both of which alter the overall weight of the vehicle. This determines how much the springs are compressed and how high the loading height of the van will be.
