You need to know the Fiat Scudo payload for a panel van? Well, you're in the right place to find out as this guide will tell you exactly what the Fiat Scudo payload is, how much weight the Fiat Scudo carry and what the Fiat Scudo capacity maximum is.
There are many versions of the Scudo, so we'll break down the details from generic to detailed as we go and by the end of it you'lll know exactly how much weight your Scudo van can carry.
If you're looking to compare other van payloads then head to the section giving you all the details of payloads for many different van models. You'll also find links to our guides on van dimensions and towing capacity. With special articles on the Fiat Scudo dimensions and the Fiat Scudo towing capacity.
If you want some more general advice on this van then there's also a complete unbiased Fiat Scudo review.
Finally, if you've come looking for details on the electric version then you're in the wrong place. Instead head over to the Fiat E-Scudo review or there are helpful guides on the Fiat E-Scudo dimensions, Fiat E-Scudo payload and Fiat E-Scudo towing capacity.
The technical specification for the Fiat Scudo has a payload from 1,121kg to 1,384kg. This figure is the total permitted weight without a driver but including all the fluids in the van as well as 90% full tank of diesel.
That should help answer your question but perhaps you want to know more precisely about the specifics of a certain model of Fiat Scudo payload.
The Fiat Scudo has two different gross vehicle weights of 2.8-tonnes and 3.1-tonnes. That's the total maximum weight the van is allowed to be when fully laden with driver, passenger and anything in the loadspace.
More specifically, the exact Fiat Scudo GVW for each version is either 2,830kg or 3,070kg and 3,100kg.
Fiat doesn't label their Scudo vans with a number to identify its weight - not like the badges that givea hint as to the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter payload. To find out which version you have you'll need to check the vehicle plating weights. You can usually find these as a sticker or a metal plate either on the inside of the passenger door or under the bonnet.
Narrowing down the Scudo payloads a little more based on GVW:
- 2.8-tonne GVW vans have a payload capacity of 1,121kg to 1,182kg
- 3.1-tonnes GVW vans have a payload capacity of 1,315kg to 1,384kg
Now we're going to get really granular about what model can carry what.
Below is a table with each of the of models showing the maximum payload for each van. You'll see that there are the two different trim levels, as well as the body sizes. There's also the differing transmissions, manual or automatic, and of course the engines - because the lower powered unit is a 1.5-litre engine and the higher powered option is a 2-litre.

It might also be necessary to know the individual axle weights of your van.
Axle weights are the individual amount of load that can be on any one axle - front or rear.
Why knowing the axle weights important, we hear you ask?
Well, if you place a heavy load at the rear of the van, most of that weight is going to be supported only on that axle. That will result in the van being overloaded.
So although the overall payload of the van might not be illegal, the weight of the item in the rear plus the weight of the body of the van - which is spread across the front and rear axles - might mean that it is above the individual axle weight rating for the Scudo.
The table below will give you an idea not only of the axle weights but also the Fiat Scudo towing capacity which we have done a seperate guide on.
Fiat Scudo has a maximum front axle weight of 1500kg for all panel van models.
Fiat Scudo has a maximum rear axle weight of 1800kg for all models.
The Scudo is right on the money when it comes to payload hungry vans in the sector. The Ford Transit Custom payload for example is 1100kg to 1350kg so the Scudo actually has slightly more.
It's also the exact same payload you'll find in any of the other Stellantis vans, so the Citroen Dispatch payload, the Peugeot Expert payload and the Vauxhall Vivaro payload are all exactly the same.
