You've come looking for the Vauxhall Combo Electric payload capacity. This guide will give you all the information you need on the weights and capacities of the Combo Electric and just how much weight the Combo Electric van can carry.
You’ve also come to the right place to get your answers on van payloads and other important questions on the Vauxhall Combo Electric including towing capacity, axle weights, gross vehicle weight and kerb weight.
Take a look at our Vauxhall Combo Electric payload guide to find out what is the payload plus much much more for the electric Combo van.
The maximum payload weight of the Vauxhall Combo Electric is up to 780kg. That’s for the L1 short-wheelbase (SWB) size van which is the smallest version of the Combo Electric van. This is the total payload allowance minus the weight of a driver.
The Combo Electric has a 50kWh battery which takes a lot out of the payload of the electric van compared to the Vauxhall Combo payload capacity. The diesel van with the highest payload can transport up to 200kg more weight than the equivalent electric.
The bigger body from a long-wheelbase van means that the Combo Electric payload is slightly less than the smaller version when it is a long-wheelbase (LWB) van. The long-wheelbase L2 version of the Vauxhall Combo Electric has a payload of up to 753kg. This is the payload allowance minus the weight of a driver.
Because of its electric batteries, the Combo Electric is quite heavy with a kerb weight of 1665kg for the lightest van – which also happens to be the entry-level model.
If you opt for a higher trim level that will increase the kerb weight and possibly reduce the payload – although that depends on the plated weight of the van (more on that in a minute).
The higher trim level has an increased kerb weight of 1682kg.
Increasing the size of the van – specifying it as a long-wheelbase L2 model – also adds to the kerb weight. The larger entry-level van is 1707kg, while the top trim level model is 1724kg.
The front axle of the Vauxhall Combo Electric is capable of taking 1200kg. This is the maximum plated weight for the front axle on all models.
The rear axle of the Vauxhall Combo Electric is capable of taking 1400kg. This is the maximum plated weight for the rear axle on all models.
Not all electric vans are capable of towing, but the Combo Electric is. The towing capacity for the Combo Electric is 750kg for an unbraked trailer, and also 750kg for a braked trailer.
The gross vehicle weight is the total of the kerbweight plus the payload. It's the figure at which the manufacturer has decided is the safe maximum weight for the vehicle to operate at. If you exceed this amount your are overloading your van and breaking the law.
In order to ensure that the larger (and heavier) Vauxhall Combo Electric vans aren't disadvantaged and end up with a smaller payload, Vauxhall has increased the GVW of some of its vans. The specific GVM varies according to the trim level and the body size, but the Combo Electric has a range from 2,390kg to 2,410kg.
When carrying a significant amount of weight in your van is to very important that you remain on the right side of the law. While we hope our guide is useful and can give you a good indication of how much weight your Combo Electric van can carry the best way to find out how much payload your van has is to check the vehicle plate.
This is a small metal plate (or more commonly now a sticker) usually found on the inside of the driver or passenger side door that lists the GVW, payload and front and rear axle weights. On some occasions you can find it under the bonnet. Our advice... always check the plate.
